Let’s get to know Din Restaurant and Bar!
Din Restaurant and Bar is an international restaurant and jazz bar located on the first floor of the historic Baan Tuk Din Hotel, which has been operating on Din Soi Road since the reign of King Rama V—making it 125 years old! The restaurant itself opened recently in 2023, making it a new spot worth visiting. It’s perfect for after-work relaxation or special occasions alike.
To reach Din Restaurant and Bar, you can travel by private car or public transport. If you’re driving, there’s a private parking area just a few meters from the restaurant, with a parking fee of 40 baht per hour. For those using public transportation, you can take bus lines 3-35, 3-57, or 4-10, or take the MRT Blue Line to Sam Yot Station and then grab a taxi to get there.
Upon entering the restaurant, you’ll find three main zones. The first is the dining area, or Dining Room, which is decorated with wooden furniture, wall accents, and classic lamps. There are also framed photos of jazz artists that create a nostalgic vibe reminiscent of the 80s and 90s. Despite this classic feel, the decor still retains elements of Thai tradition, reflecting the hotel’s history since the reign of King Rama V.
For those who want to enjoy live music, the restaurant hosts a jazz band from Thursday to Friday, performing from 8 PM to 11 PM, and on Sundays from 1 PM to 4 PM. On other days or during the time before the live performances, the restaurant plays soft jazz music to enhance the dining experience for every meal.
In addition to the Dining Room, the indoor area features a bar, perfect for those who come alone or want to relax with a drink. Here, you can enjoy the skillful flair of talented bartenders crafting a variety of drinks, including cocktails, right before your eyes. It’s also a great option to chat with the bartenders to unwind and alleviate any loneliness.
On days when the weather is nice and the sky is clear, you can enjoy the Garden Zone, which features seating surrounded by a variety of plants, creating a refreshing atmosphere. In this area, you’ll also get to see the classic wooden house of the Baan Tuk Din Hotel, which is over 125 years old, adding to the charm of your experience.

Let’s start with three appetizers. First up is the Argentinian Shrimp with Spicy Sauce, a Thai-style spicy shrimp dish. It features Argentine shrimp that are baked and then sliced in half, topped with a flavorful seafood sauce. This appetizer is sure to whet your appetite!
Next is the Baked US Scallops with Garlic Butter. This dish features specially selected US scallops, the largest size available, baked with high-quality garlic butter—similar to what you’d find in a bakery. It’s healthier due to the higher milk content and pairs perfectly with soft bread for a delightful dining experience.
Next, we have the Cold Grilled Sliced Tenderloin with Ponzu and Mustard Vinaigrette. This dish features Argentine tenderloin that’s grilled to achieve a slightly charred exterior while remaining rare inside. It’s served with ponzu dipping sauce, whole grain mustard, beetroot, and pickled cucumbers. The acidity of the sauces and the refreshing sides perfectly complement the tender, melt-in-your-mouth beef.
After enjoying the appetizers, let’s move on to the main courses. The first dish is Beef Tongue Stew with House Mashed Potato. This is one of the signature dishes, featuring premium beef tongue that’s simmered until tender and melt-in-your-mouth. It’s served alongside handmade mashed potatoes made from fresh potatoes, creating a comforting and flavorful combination.
Next up is the Fried Duck Leg with Orange Sauce. The duck leg is fried until crispy and beautifully golden. It’s served with a zesty orange sauce that balances the richness of the duck, along with a refreshing salad that adds a nice contrast to the dish.
Then we have the Grilled Mediterranean Sea Bass with Marinara Sauce. The restaurant uses large deep-sea sea bass, fried until golden and crispy. It’s served with a sweet and tangy marinara sauce, complemented by the freshness of Italian basil, also known as Italian parsley. This dish beautifully balances flavors and textures for a delightful experience.
Grilled Salmon with Pesto Sauce. This dish features Norwegian trout salmon, known for its sashimi-grade quality. It’s topped with flavorful pesto sauce and accompanied by a medley of fruits that complement the dish beautifully, creating a delightful balance of flavors.
Next is the Pork Chop in Creamy Mushroom Sauce with House Mashed Potato. This generous pork chop is grilled to a nice golden brown and then baked, topped with a rich, creamy mushroom sauce and Parmesan cheese. Importantly, this dish is made to order, ensuring freshness and flavor in every bite.
Last but not least, we have the Fried River Prawn with Sea Salt served with Prawn Butter Fried Rice. These large river prawns are deep-fried in high-quality rice bran oil until crispy and golden. They come with fragrant prawn butter fried rice, finished off with a seafood dipping sauce and fresh vegetables. This dish offers a delightful combination of flavors and textures!
