JUBANG 주방 Bang Khun Non Branch
JUBANG 주방 is a Korean BBQ restaurant located in Soi Charansanitwong 32, on Charansanitwong Road, Siri Rat Subdistrict, Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok. The restaurant is conveniently situated just 57 meters (approximately 1 minute) from MRT Bang Khun Non-Station. Simply step out of the MRT station, walk into Soi Charansanitwong 32, and within a few minutes, you’ll arrive at the restaurant, which is on the left-hand side.
For those driving, the restaurant provides parking for 15-20 cars. However, it’s best to allow extra travel time, as Charansanitwong Road tends to experience heavy traffic, especially during rush hours.
JUBANG 주방 is open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, except on Mondays when the restaurant is closed. On weekdays, particularly around 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM, the restaurant tends to get very busy, often reaching full capacity, with both seating and parking filling up quickly. Weekends are even busier, so it’s highly recommended to call ahead to check for available seating and coordinate with your friends before making a reservation.
The Beginning and a Unique Identity
The story of JUBANG 주방 began with Chef Kim Jeon Hee, a passionate Korean chef with a deep love for Korean BBQ. His vision was to create an authentic Korean BBQ experience, offering premium-quality dishes that set his restaurant apart. With this goal in mind, he opened the first JUBANG 주방 branch at Foodie Bangna in 2022, bringing his dream to life.
Chef Kim is known for his meticulous attention to detail and hands-on approach. He personally oversees everything—from the restaurant’s design and ingredient selection to food preparation and kitchen management—ensuring that every aspect meets his high standards.
The restaurant’s interior reflects his commitment to authenticity. Every element, from tables and chairs to lighting fixtures, is carefully selected and imported directly from South Korea. Chef Kim personally designed and supervised the construction, ensuring that the atmosphere is modern, inviting, and true to Korean aesthetics. This dedication creates a warm and immersive dining experience that mirrors his Korean heritage.
Beyond the ambiance, ingredient selection and preparation are just as important to him. Chef Kim carefully sources premium ingredients from both Thailand and South Korea, ensuring the highest quality from start to finish. All ingredients, including meats, fresh vegetables, and other key components, are prepared fresh daily, guaranteeing that every customer enjoys only the freshest flavors.
However, what truly sets JUBANG 주방 apart—beyond its attention to detail and premium selections—is the meat. This is where Chef Kim’s dedication truly shines, making his restaurant a standout destination for authentic Korean BBQ lovers.
The meat preparation process at JUBANG 주방 is unlike that of typical Korean BBQ restaurants. It’s not just about selecting high-quality cuts—every piece of meat is carefully prepared using a specialized technique known as the Water-aging.
This Water-Aging process involves aging the meat in cold water at a precisely controlled temperature of 0-5°C. This method enhances the meat’s tenderness and intensifies its natural flavors while preserving its juiciness. To achieve the perfect texture and taste, the meat is submerged in water for 3 days, followed by an additional one-day rest period in a temperature-controlled storage unit.
Only after this meticulous preparation is the meat served to customers, ensuring a rich, flavorful, and exceptionally tender dining experience in every bite.
Moreover, JUBANG 주방 uses high-quality Binchotan charcoal, known for its ability to maintain a high, steady heat with minimal smoke. If you love Korean BBQ but worry about the lingering smell of grilled meat on your clothes, rest assured—Binchotan charcoal significantly reduces smoke, ensuring you can enjoy your meal without carrying the scent home.
More importantly, Binchotan is a natural, chemical-free charcoal that does not produce carcinogens, making it a healthier choice for BBQ lovers. Those who are mindful of their health can enjoy their grilled dishes with peace of mind. While using premium charcoal may seem like a minor detail, it truly reflects Chef Kim’s dedication to providing the best dining experience for his customers.
This meticulous approach to ingredient preparation and the chef’s attention to detail naturally sets JUBANG 주방 apart from other Korean BBQ restaurants. In addition, Chef Kim personally oversees kitchen operations to ensure that every dish served meets his high standards—offering not only top-quality food but also excellent service.
สาขา บางนา สาขา บางขุนนนท์
After the successful launch of its first branch at Foodie Bangna, JUBANG 주방 quickly gained popularity, especially among both Korean and Thai customers, who kept coming back for its authentic flavors. As demand continued to grow, Chef Kim Jeon Hee, driven by the success of the first location, decided to open a second branch in 2024. This new location, situated in Soi Charansanitwong 32, near MRT Bang Khun Non, was established to bring the premium Korean BBQ experience to even more diners, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the exceptional quality and authentic taste that JUBANG 주방 is known for.
Currently, JUBANG 주방 has two branches: Bangna Branch and Bang Khun Non-Branch.
Restaurant Ambiance
As you step inside the Bang Khun Non-branch, you’ll immediately notice its minimalist yet modern design, creating a visually pleasing and inviting atmosphere. The dark-toned walls and ceiling add a touch of sophistication, while the warm lighting and strategically placed greenery enhance the sense of comfort and relaxation.
This thoughtfully designed space is perfect for enjoying a meal while unwinding with close friends, whether during the day or in the evening. The ambiance effortlessly recreates the experience of dining at an authentic Korean BBQ restaurant in South Korea, making every visit both immersive and memorable.
The seating area is spacious and well-arranged, featuring 15 comfortable tables that provide ample room for diners without feeling cramped. Each table can accommodate 4-6 people, making it perfect for group gatherings with friends. However, if you’re planning a more intimate meal for two, the setup is just as inviting.
Now that you know what to expect, it’s time to dive into the delicious menu and experience the flavors of JUBANG 주방 for yourself!
Menu
Tangy seaweed salad Bean sprouts Sakji (pickled onions and radish) Napa cabbage kimchi Pickled cucumber kimchi Scallions
Before diving into the main dishes, the restaurant serves 7 Signature Korean side dishes (Banchan) to enjoy as appetizers. These include Napa cabbage kimchi, pickled cucumber kimchi, scallions, Sakji (pickled onions and radish), bean sprouts, tangy seaweed salad, and pickled perilla leaves.
All of these side dishes are freshly made in-house daily, ensuring the best quality and flavor. Plus, they are unlimited, so you can request refills as much as you like! However, on the day we dined at the restaurant, only six side dishes were served since the pickled perilla leaves were out of stock.
Next, the restaurant serves fresh vegetables and the main dishes, followed by 3 signature dipping sauces: Gochujang (spicy red chili paste), Ssamjang (savory-sweet soybean paste), and sesame oil with salt and pepper.
With everything set on the table, we began our meal, enjoying each dish one at a time in a well-paced, flavorful experience.
Let’s begin with the highlight of the meal—Wagyu Oyster Blade, a premium cut of beef that is expertly sliced thin and beautifully presented, allowing diners to grill it themselves for a hands-on, immersive experience. As the meat sizzles on the hot grill, the aroma of perfectly seared Wagyu begins to fill the air, instantly stimulating the appetite. Once it reaches the ideal doneness, take a bite and experience the incredible tenderness, as the rich, buttery flavors of the Wagyu melt effortlessly in your mouth. The combination of juiciness and deep umami flavor makes every bite an indulgent delight.
For a more refreshing experience, wrap the grilled meat in fresh lettuce before taking a bite. The crisp, cool texture of the greens contrasts beautifully with the warm, juicy meat, enhancing both the flavor and mouthfeel. With each chew, the natural sweetness of the lettuce balances the rich, smoky taste of the beef, creating a delightfully satisfying bite
For those who love bold and fiery flavors, try pairing the grilled meat with Gochujang sauce mixed with wasabi. This combination intensifies the umami depth of the beef while adding a spicy, tingling heat that lingers on the tongue. So, if you’re a fan of that numbing, fiery kick, this is a must-try!
But spicy, numbing heat isn’t your thing, don’t worry—there are other delicious dipping options to enhance your grilled meat experience. If you pair your grilled meat with Ssamjang, you’ll enjoy a harmonious blend of sweet and salty flavors, enhancing the richness of the beef with every bite. On the other hand, if you opt for sesame oil with salt and pepper, you’ll experience the pure, authentic taste of the grilled meat, allowing its natural flavors to shine through in every mouthful.
In addition to the classic dipping sauces, the restaurant offers a signature house-made sauce designed specifically to complement the grilled meat.
This special sauce enhances the richness of the meat, while the natural sweetness and crisp texture of fresh onions add a refreshing contrast. Combined with the savory, umami-packed sauce, every bite becomes a perfectly balanced harmony of flavors—bold, juicy, and incredibly satisfying.
Let’s move on to the second menu, Hangjeong Sal (Pork Jowl). The pork jowl meat is carefully selected and cut into thick pieces before being served for convenience. Even though the pork jowl meat is fatty, it has a perfect balance between the proportion of meat and fat.
Once the grilled pork jowl is perfectly charred on the fire, cut the meat into small cubes with scissors. Then, wrap them in fresh vegetables and take a bite. You’ll immediately feel the tender, chewy texture of the pork jowl, which melts slowly in your mouth, blending harmoniously with the crisp freshness of the vegetables.
If you crave an even tenderer and juicier texture, you must try Samyeob Sal (Pork Belly). When the pork belly is grilled until the outer layer is perfectly charred, then cut into small cubes and eaten, you’ll experience a crispy exterior and soft, juicy interior. The more you chew, the more the pork belly’s succulence is released, gradually melting in your mouth.
If you’re a fan of raw meat and want to experience an intense flavor, you’ll love this dish: Yukhoe, or raw beef salad. This raw beef dish involves mixing the beef with spices and sesame seeds, seasoning it with Korean soy sauce and yuzu vinegar. It is then served with raw egg yolk and seaweed sheets.
When you take a bite, the raw beef has a fragrant aroma of spices, free from any fishy smell, and is tender and easy to eat. Pairing the raw beef with raw egg yolk enhances its rich flavor, making it even more delicious. Moreover, wrapping the raw beef in seaweed sheets adds a harmonious taste and a crispy texture to the dish.
Other Menu
If you enjoy Korean marinated dishes, the restaurant also offers Yeoneojang (soy sauce-marinated salmon). The raw salmon is served in soy sauce marinade and topped with sesame seeds, garlic, and green chili. When you taste the raw salmon, you’ll experience its rich, juicy flavor. Pairing the raw salmon with seaweed sheets further enhances its texture and taste, making it even more delicious and well-balanced.
However, if you prefer a more typical dish that is not grilled, we recommend Gochujang Bulgogi or Spicy Stir-Fried Sliced Beef. The sliced beef is stir-fried with gochujang sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and chili until well combined. This dish has a tangy and spicy flavor, and the sliced beef is tender, melting in your mouth with just a slight chew. Pairing this dish with hot steamed rice makes for an exceptionally delicious combination.
The restaurant also offers soup dishes. One of them is Sundubu Jigae (Seafood Soft Tofu Soup). This tofu stew comes with a generous amount of pork, shrimp, squid, and mussels. The soup itself has a spicy and numbing flavor, while the tofu is soft and tender. You can enjoy pork, shrimp, squid, and mussels according to your preference.
For those who prefer a simple and straightforward meal, perfect for reminiscing with friends, we recommend the Mandu Ramyeon (Korean Instant Noodles with Dumplings). However, at this restaurant, the Mandu Ramyeon is served in a brass pot, packed with eggs and Korean dumplings.
In terms of flavor, the soup is intensely spicy, the noodles are chewy and tender, the eggs are thick and melt in your mouth, and the Korean dumplings are rich in taste. When you pair the eggs with the dumplings, the combined flavor is simply perfect.
วุ้นเส้นสาหร่ายทอด (Gimmari) ผัดวุ้นเส้น (Japchae)
Additionally, the restaurant offers a selection of appetizers such as Gimmari (fried seaweed-wrapped glass noodles) and Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles).
The restaurant also offers a complimentary bottle of barley tea. The barley tea has a fragrant aroma and a light barley flavor. If you drink chilled tea, it will help quench your thirst, reduce the spiciness, and add a refreshing touch to your meal.
